Independence Day Message

I share this bit of inspiration on Independence Day.  Please read it all the way through.  And realize that it was a speech of Barry Goldwater, 52 YEARS AGO!

Our problems didn’t state with Obama or even with W.  Normally I’d just send a link, but links sometimes break and I really want folks to read this!  I highlighted some of the more important parts.

Goldwater’s 1964 Acceptance Speech

The following is the text of Barry Goldwater’s 1964 speech at the 28th Republican National Convention, accepting the nomination for president. Provided by the Arizona Historical Foundation

To my good friend and great Republican, Dick Nixon, and your charming wife, Pat; my running mate and that wonderful Republican who has served us well for so long, Bill Miller and his wife, Stephanie; to Thurston Morton who has done such a commendable job in chairmaning this Convention; to Mr. Herbert Hoover, who I hope is watching; and to that great American and his wife, General and Mrs. Eisenhower; to my own wife, my family, and to all of my fellow Republicans here assembled, and Americans across this great Nation.

From this moment, united and determined, we will go forward together, dedicated to the ultimate and undeniable greatness of the whole man. Together we will win.

I accept your nomination with a deep sense of humility. I accept, too, the responsibility that goes with it, and I seek your continued help and your continued guidance. My fellow Republicans, our cause is too great for any man to feel worthy of it. Our task would be too great for any man, did he not have with him the heart and the hands of this great Republican Party, and I promise you tonight that every fiber of my being is consecrated to our cause; that nothing shall be lacking from the struggle that can be brought to it by enthusiasm, by devotion, and plain hard work. In this world no person, no party can guarantee anything, but what we can do and what we shall do is to deserve victory, and victory will be ours.

The good Lord raised this mighty Republic to be a home for the brave and to flourish as the land of the free-not to stagnate in the swampland of collectivism, not to cringe before the bully of communism.

Now, my fellow Americans, the tide has been running against freedom. Our people have followed false prophets. We must, and we shall, return to proven ways– not because they are old, but because they are true. We must, and we shall, set the tide running again in the cause of freedom. And this party, with its every action, every word, every breath, and every heartbeat, has but a single resolve, and that is freedom – freedom made orderly for this nation by our constitutional government; freedom under a government limited by laws of nature and of nature’s God; freedom – balanced so that liberty lacking order will not become the slavery of the prison cell; balanced so that liberty lacking order will not become the license of the mob and of the jungle.

Now, we Americans understand freedom. We have earned it, we have lived for it, and we have died for it. This Nation and its people are freedom’s model in a searching world. We can be freedom’s missionaries in a doubting world. But, ladies and gentlemen, first we must renew freedom’s mission in our own hearts and in our own homes.

During four futile years, the administration which we shall replace has distorted and lost that faith. It has talked and talked and talked and talked the words of freedom. Now, failures cement the wall of shame in Berlin. Failures blot the sands of shame at the Bay of Pigs. Failures mark the slow death of freedom in Laos. Failures infest the jungles of Vietnam. And failures haunt the houses of our once great alliances and undermine the greatest bulwark ever erected by free nations – the NATO community. Failures proclaim lost leadership, obscure purpose, weakening wills, and the risk of inciting our sworn enemies to new aggressions and to new excesses. Because of this administration we are tonight a world divided – we are a Nation becalmed. We have lost the brisk pace of diversity and the genius of individual creativity. We are plodding at a pace set by centralized planning, red tape, rules without responsibility, and regimentation without recourse.

Rather than useful jobs in our country, people have been offered bureaucratic “make work,” rather than moral leadership, they have been given bread and circuses, spectacles, and, yes, they have even been given scandals. Tonight there is violence in our streets, corruption in our highest offices, aimlessness among our youth, anxiety among our elders and there is a virtual despair among the many who look beyond material success for the inner meaning of their lives. Where examples of morality should be set, the opposite is seen. Small men, seeking great wealth or power, have too often and too long turned even the highest levels of public service into mere personal opportunity.

Now, certainly, simple honesty is not too much to demand of men in government. We find it in most. Republicans demand it from everyone. They demand it from everyone no matter how exalted or protected his position might be. The growing menace in our country tonight, to personal safety, to life, to limb and property, in homes, in churches, on the playgrounds, and places of business, particularly in our great cities, is the mounting concern, or should be, of every thoughtful citizen in the United States.

Security from domestic violence, no less than from foreign aggression, is the most elementary and fundamental purpose of any government, and a government that cannot fulfill that purpose is one that cannot long command the loyalty of its citizens. History shows us – demonstrates that nothing – nothing prepares the way for tyranny more than the failure of public officials to keep the streets from bullies and marauders.

Now, we Republicans see all this as more, much more, than the rest: of mere political differences or mere political mistakes. We see this as the result of a fundamentally and absolutely wrong view of man, his nature and his destiny. Those who seek to live your lives for you, to take your liberties in return for relieving you of yours, those who elevate the state and downgrade the citizen must see ultimately a world in which earthly power can be substituted for divine will, and this Nation was founded upon the rejection of that notion and upon the acceptance of God as the author of freedom.

Those who seek absolute power, even though they seek it to do what they regard as good, are simply demanding the right to enforce their own version of heaven on earth. And let me remind you, they are the very ones who always create the most hellish tyrannies. Absolute power does corrupt, and those who seek it must be suspect and must be opposed. Their mistaken course stems from false notions of equality, ladies and gentlemen. Equality, rightly understood, as our founding fathers understood it, leads to liberty and to the emancipation of creative differences. Wrongly understood, as it has been so tragically in our time, it leads first to conformity and then to despotism.

Fellow Republicans, it is the cause of Republicanism to resist concentrations of power, private or public, which enforce such conformity and inflict such despotism. It is the cause of Republicanism to ensure that power remains in the hands of the people. And, so help us God, that is exactly what a Republican president will do with the help of a Republican Congress.

It is further the cause of Republicanism to restore a clear understanding of the tyranny of man over man in the world at large. It is our cause to dispel the foggy thinking which avoids hard decisions in the illusion that a world of conflict will somehow mysteriously resolve itself into a world of harmony, if we just don’t rock the boat or irritate the forces of aggression – and this is hogwash.

It is further the cause of Republicanism to remind ourselves, and the world, that only the strong can remain free, that only the strong can keep the peace.

Now, I needn’t remind you, or my fellow Americans regardless of party, that Republicans have shouldered this hard responsibility and marched in this cause before. It was Republican leadership under Dwight Eisenhower that kept the peace, and passed along to this administration the mightiest arsenal for defense the world has ever known. And I needn’t remind you that it was the strength and the unbelievable will of the Eisenhower years that kept the peace by using our strength, by using it in the Formosa Straits and in Lebanon and by showing it courageously at all times.

It was during those Republican years that the thrust of Communist imperialism was blunted. It was during those years of Republican leadership that this world moved closer, not to war, but closer to peace, than at any other time in the three decades just passed.

And I needn’t remind you – but I will – that it’s been during Democratic years that our strength to deter war has stood still, and even gone into a planned decline. It has been during Democratic years that we have weakly stumbled into conflict, timidly refusing to draw our own lines against aggression, deceitfully refusing to tell even our people of our full participation, and tragically, letting our finest men die on battlefields (unmarked by purpose, unmarked by pride or the prospect of victory).

Yesterday it was Korea. Tonight it is Vietnam. Make no bones of this. Don’t try to sweep this under the rug. We are at war in Vietnam. And yet the President, who is Commander-in-Chief of our forces, refuses to say – refuses to say, mind you, whether or not the objective over there is victory. And his Secretary of Defense continues to mislead and misinform the American people, and enough of it has gone by.

And I needn’t remind you, but I will; it has been during Democratic years that a billion persons were cast into Communist captivity and their fate cynically sealed.

Today in our beloved country we have an administration which seems eager to deal with communism in every coin known – from gold to wheat, from consulates to confidence, and even human freedom itself.

The Republican cause demands that we brand communism as a principal disturber of peace in the world today. Indeed, we should brand it as the only significant disturber of the peace, and we must make clear that until its goals of conquest are absolutely renounced and its rejections with all nations tempered, communism and the governments it now controls are enemies of every man on earth who is or wants to be free.

We here in America can keep the peace only if we remain vigilant and only if we remain strong. Only if we keep our eyes open and keep our guard up can we prevent war. And I want to make this abundantly clear – I don’t intend to let peace or freedom be torn from our grasp because of lack of strength or lack of will – and that I promise you Americans.

I believe that we must look beyond the defense of freedom today to its extension tomorrow. I believe that the communism which boasts it will bury us will, instead, give way to the forces of freedom. And I can see in the distant and yet recognizable future the outlines of a world worthy our dedication, our every risk, our every effort, our every sacrifice along the way. Yes, a world that will redeem the suffering of those who will be liberated from tyranny. I can see and I suggest that all thoughtful men must contemplate the flowering of an Atlantic civilization, the whole world of Europe unified and free, trading openly across its borders, communicating openly across the world. This is a goal far, far more meaningful than a moon shot.

It’s a truly inspiring goal for all free men to set for themselves during the latter half of the twentieth century. I can also see – and all free men must thrill to – the events of this Atlantic civilization joined by its great ocean highway to the United States. What a destiny, what a destiny can be ours to stand as a great central pillar linking Europe, the Americans and the venerable and vital peoples and cultures of the Pacific. I can see a day when all the Americas, North and South, will be linked in a mighty system, a system in which the errors and misunderstandings of the past will be submerged one by one in a rising tide of prosperity and interdependence. We know that the misunderstandings of centuries are not to be wiped away in a day or wiped away in an hour. But we pledge – we pledge that human sympathy – what our neighbors to the South call that attitude of “simpatico” – no less than enlightened self’-interest will be our guide.

I can see this Atlantic civilization galvanizing and guiding emergent nations everywhere.

I know this freedom is not the fruit of every soil. I know that our own freedom was achieved through centuries, by unremitting efforts by brave and wise men. I know that the road to freedom is a long and a challenging road. I know also that some men may walk away from it, that some men resist challenge, accepting the false security of governmental paternalism.

And I pledge that the America I envision in the years ahead will extend its hand in health, in teaching and in cultivation, so that all new nations will be at least encouraged to go our way, so that they will not wander down the dark alleys of tyranny or to the dead-end streets of collectivism. My fellow Republicans, we do no man a service by hiding freedom’s light under a bushel of mistaken humility.

I seek an American proud of its past, proud of its ways, proud of its dreams, and determined actively to proclaim them. But our example to the world must, like charity, begin at home.

In our vision of a good and decent future, free and peaceful, there must be room for deliberation of the energy and talent of the individual – otherwise our vision is blind at the outset.

We must assure a society here which, while never abandoning the needy or forsaking the helpless, nurtures incentives and opportunity for the creative and the productive. We must know the whole good is the product of many single contributions.

I cherish a day when our children once again will restore as heroes the sort of men and women who – unafraid and undaunted – pursue the truth, strive to cure disease, subdue and make fruitful our natural environment and produce the inventive engines of production, science, and technology.

This Nation, whose creative people have enhanced this entire span of history, should again thrive upon the greatness of all those things which we, as individual citizens, can and should do. During Republican years, this again will be a nation of men and women, of families proud of their role, jealous of their responsibilities, unlimited in their aspirations – a Nation where all who can will be self-reliant.

We Republicans see in our constitutional form of government the great framework which assures the orderly but dynamic fulfillment of the whole man, and we see the whole man as the great reason for instituting orderly government in the first place.

We see, in private property and in economy based upon and fostering private property, the one way to make government a durable ally of the whole man, rather than his determined enemy. We see in the sanctity of private property the only durable foundation for constitutional government in a free society. And beyond that, we see, in cherished diversity of ways, diversity of thoughts, of motives and accomplishments. We do not seek to lead anyone’s life for him – we seek only to secure his rights and to guarantee him opportunity to strive, with government performing only those needed and constitutionally sanctioned tasks which cannot otherwise be performed.

We Republicans seek a government that attends to its inherent responsibilities of maintaining a stable monetary and fiscal climate, encouraging a free and a competitive economy and enforcing law and order. Thus do we seek inventiveness, diversity, and creativity within a stable order, for we Republicans define government’s role where needed at many, many levels, preferably through the one closest to the people involved.

Our towns and our cities, then our counties, then our states, then our regional contacts – and only then, the national government. That, let me remind you, is the ladder of liberty, built by decentralized power. On it also we must have balance between the branches of government at every level.

Balance, diversity, creativity – these are the elements of Republican equation. Republicans agree, Republicans agree heartily to disagree on many, many of their applications, but we have never disagreed on the basic fundamental issues of why you and I are Republicans.

This is a party, this Republican Party, a Party for free men, not for blind followers, and not for conformists.

Back in 1858 Abraham Lincoln said this of the Republican party – and I quote him, because he probably could have said it during the last week or so: “It was composed of strained, discordant, and even hostile elements” in 1858. Yet all of these elements agreed on one paramount objective: To arrest the progress of slavery, and place it in the course of ultimate extinction.

Today, as then, but more urgently and more broadly than then, the task of preserving and enlarging freedom at home and safeguarding it from the forces of tyranny abroad is great enough to challenge all our resources and to require all our strength. Anyone who joins us in all sincerity, we welcome. Those who do not care for our cause, we don’t expect to enter our ranks in any case. And let our Republicanism, so focused and so dedicated, not be made fuzzy and futile by unthinking and stupid labels.

I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.

The beauty of the very system we Republicans are pledged to restore and revitalize, the beauty of this Federal system of ours is in its reconciliation of diversity with unity. We must not see malice in honest differences of opinion, and no matter how great, so long as they are not inconsistent with the pledges we have given to each other in and through our Constitution. Our Republican cause is not to level out the world or make its people conform in computer regimented sameness. Our Republican cause is to free our people and light the way for liberty throughout the world.

Ours is a very human cause for very humane goals.

This Party, its good people, and its unquestionable devotion to freedom, will not fulfill the purposes of this campaign which we launch here now until our cause has won the day, inspired the world, and shown the way to a tomorrow worthy of all our yesteryears.

I repeat, I accept your nomination with humbleness, with pride, and you and I are going to fight for the goodness of our land. Thank you.

Restore Liberty in My Lifetime?

We in the liberty movement all talk about “restoring rightful liberty” whatever that means to the folks talking about it. Many of us call ourselves three percenters, alluding to the three percent of the patriots who fought for liberty during the revolutionary war.

Let’s look at the numbers. In 1776 the colonies numbered some 2.4 million people with about 80% English/Irish/Scottish/Welsh descent, 9% German and 4% Dutch.  About 90% were farmers.  Some 200,000 were slaves from Africa.

Historians suggest that 40-45% of the colonists were Patriots. 15-20% were Loyalists.  35-45% never chose a side.

Some 250,000 men fought for the Patriots, but never more than 90,000 served at any one time. Some 25,000 men of the Loyalists fought for the British.  Another 5000 black slaves fought for the Patriots.  The three percent is the total ever fighting at once of the entire population of the colonies.  The total that took up arms is a little more than 10%.

What motivated folks to be on one side or the other?

For the Patriots, the initial rally to arms was impressive in 1775. As the war dragged on, enthusiasm waned.  Many colonies were compelled to entice soldiers with offers of cash bounties, clothing, blankets and enlistments shorter than the one year term of service established by Congress.  The following year, Congress mandated three year enlistments and offers of cash and land bounties became an absolute necessity.

Longer enlistments radically changed the composition of the Army. Washington’s troops in 1775-76 had represented a cross section of the free male population. But few who owned farms were willing to serve for the duration, fearing loss of their property if years passed without producing revenue from which to pay taxes. After 1777, the average Continental soldier was young, single, propertyless, poor and in many cases an outright pauper. In some states, such as Pennsylvania, up to one in four soldiers was an impoverished recent immigrant. Patriotism aside, cash and land bounties offered an unprecedented chance for economic mobility for these men.

The average Patriot was poor and many were motivated by the writings of Thomas Paine and others like him who suggested an equality of opportunity in a new country.

The typical Loyalist was a little wealthier and was more settled in their ways. They owned shops and businesses.  They were leaders and respected in their communities.  Most of them left America at the end of the war.

This is a very long lead into this post, but the background is needed when we talk about today. 75 to 80% of the colonists weren’t against the Patriots.  Think about that for a second.  Three to ten percent actually took up arms against the British.

The Patriots were motivated by equality, economic mobility and freedom of religion.

What percentage of Americans are motivated by these three things today? We read daily of regular folks begging the government to take their rights away under the notion that we “might” be safer.  The number of folks that really want equality of opportunity is almost none.  Attacks on economic mobility occur from every side of the political spectrum.  Freedom of religion?  Americans are embracing religion at a smaller number every year it seems.

So, what are we restoring? How many Americans even recognize these motivations enough to even want them?

Americans fit far more into the Loyalist camp these days than the Patriot camp. They are happy with what they have and want a government to protect what they have.  If by some magic stroke all of the .gov folks that work to oppress us, stopped doing what they do today, Americans would replace them tomorrow.  They would be mad at whoever wielded the magic stroke.

All the groups like the NRA that ostensibly are there to protect our rights are very pragmatic at best and not lovers of overall liberty at worst. The Tea Party in its heyday wasn’t against large government, merely against large government budgets.  The old “Contract With America” that got Newt Gingrich and crew elected promised to eliminate 95 major programs.  In reality, the combined budgets of these programs increased by 13%.  Congressmen complain that “due process is overrated and needs to be looked at again”.  When offered more “safety and security” Americans are begging to have their rights taken away without even a whimper.

I’m depressed enough right now in realizing that there is no restoration of liberty possible. Even if we are optimistic and think we really have three percent of Americans on our side, 97% are on the other side.  Using that same magic stroke, if we three percenters were suddenly in charge, we would be run out of town for promoting evil things.  We can’t beat our foes with force.

I am optimistic enough though to realize that our liberty is not to be found by looking backwards. We didn’t get in this mess since Obama got elected.  It might take a generation or two or three to fix it.  We’ve got to look at the next 50 years and see how it can be made better.

More to follow in future posts.

This is a perfect lead in to our next post.

No Fly, No Buy’ Means No Freedom

The people in the government who want to control our personal choices are the enemies of freedom. And the enemies of freedom can be very clever and seductive.

Last week, these folks, manifesting their lust to keep us dependent upon the government by rejecting the natural right to self-defense, coined a clever phrase: “No fly, no buy.” It sounds rational, yet it rejects core American values.

The phrase was pounded home to average Americans during a one-sided 15-hour televised marathon on the floor of the Senate orchestrated by the gun control crowd. The essence of the argument was that stricter laws regarding gun sales would have prevented the massacre at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida. In gun control advocates’ dream world, the self-loathing Islamic State-inspired killer, willing to take 49 innocent lives, would somehow have been unwilling to violate restrictive gun purchase laws; and his obedience to those laws would have saved lives.

Their argument is naive and absurd. A person willing to commit mass murder is surely willing to break the law to acquire the means to commit the murders. So blinded were these senators in their misguided utterances about self-defense that they forgot about the Constitution.  (click link on top to read the whole thing)

Three Card Monte

I think everyone is familiar with the famous confidence trick that is called three card monte (also known as “find the lady”, the “three card trick” and the “shell game”). It’s been around since the 15th century and is a classic confidence game around the world.

For those who aren’t familiar with the game (and it’s variations with a cup and marble, or shells, the three-card Monte game itself is very simple.

The game works because the mark is concentrating on what the mark wants them to see, while the con is in reality doing what they really want.

We’re being played like marks right now over the shootings in Florida. Stop and think about that for a second before you read on. Think about all the discussions out there right now.  Guns, muslims, gays, immigration, ISIS, you name it.  And it’s all a game.

Don’t feel bad though, because our opponents in the liberal camp are being played too.

Neither side in the so-called war on guns really wants to accomplish their stated goals. It’s a con game to keep us distracted from what they are really doing.

The Republicans have had the White House and the Senate and the House and they have never passed real pro-gun legislation. Bought a full auto lately?  Heck, have you priced a full auto lately?

The Democrats as recently as a few years ago had Obama and the Senate and the House. They didn’t pass gun confiscation legislation either.

It’s a game to keep us distracted.  The Republicans get to scare us with threats of Democrat gun control and we send them money and vote them into office.  For the Democrats, it keeps their rabid base energized to send the Democrats lots of money and get them voted into office.

Heck, even the famous NRA would go broke if real gun rights legislation ever passed into law.

So, how does this lead us to the shootings in Florida?

When things like this happen, I always implore the motto, “follow the money”. Who wins with a shooting of this type?

Obviously, the two political parties do. It’s unlikely that any real legislation will be introduced between now and the election.  Republicans want to be reelected.  Of course Republicans and the NRA are now pushing a “real” bill to keep guns out of the hands of the terrorists.  The Democrats will whine and cry that it isn’t enough but will go along.  Of course once it’s passed and folks want to exercise due process over being on the terrorist watch list, we’ll all be told that national security trumps any legal protections.

And both sides will continue their fund raising.  Republicans to get into office to “fix the bill” (kind of like repealing Obamacare) and Democrats to keep control in place.

There will be much posturing by both parties regarding the shootings.

The Democrats will cry for more legislation, but of course they will beg for money and tell folks that they just need more of them to be voted into office.

The Republicans will cry for more members and reelection so that they can protect gun rights.

This is the con.

The real objective and what will happen while we’re concentrating on the guns is three fold.

First they will demand (and pass and fund) a larger surveillance state to combat terrorism at its root.

Second they will demand (and pass and fund) laws to root out domestic terrorists (sold in the law as going after foreigners that live here in America, but in reality use against Americans).

Finally, increase funding to “attack” ISIS overseas. This may or may not include actual American soldiers, but it will certainly include major funding to the neo-con crowd for the actual “fight”.

Neo-cons from both parties will pass these bills with high numbers. Some of us might actually fall for the con.  We’ll think we are making us safer.  We’ll feel so happy that we got to “keep” our gun rights.

A common belief is that the con may let the mark win a couple of bets to suck them in, but this is virtually never true. In a true Monte scam, the mark will never win a single bet.

Like every mark in the three card monte game, we’re going to lose to our Republican and Democrat con men.

Are We Trying to Start a War with China AND Russia?

Russia is building network of ties with disgruntled US allies in Asia

Imperceptibly though, Russia is certainly on course to building a chain of positive relations, if not strategic alliances, in the region surrounding it.The North-South Transport Corridor involves the use of marine, rail and road transportWhile the West and its strong allies in the region see the move as part of Russia’s “expansionism”, others view it as the Russian way of counterbalancing the U.S. position in the region.Moscow is providing a number of erstwhile U.S. allies the much needed alternative to diversify their foreign policies. This diversification is visible across the region. For instance, countries including India and Afghanistan have started supporting China’s stance on South China Sea.

Russia’s engagement with countries in the region implies, at least in theory,  far less dependence for them on the U.S. and its fragile commitment to their security — a commitment Washington did not adhere to in the Middle East.

Russia Refuses to Sell Tanks to Iran

Russia is constantly accused in the West of only pursuing its own selfish interests in the world, particularly in the Middle East. However, if that were true, then, particularly now that US-imposed sanctions are hurting them economically, one would expect them to sell arms to any country that asks for them. Russia is, however, refusing to sell its sophisticated T-90 tank to Iran.

No Tanks to Iran

SJWs In Our Midst

I am really trying to ignore Sam Kerodin.  I don’t think he’s worth our time.  I’ve been pretty light on posting, but promise over the next few weeks to post more often, with a lot of useful information for those of us that really matter.

Yesterday’s blog entry by Sam went beyond his usual “you can’t make this up funny” to “truly bizarre”.  So, I have to comment.

I guess that Scammy really is the ultimate Social Justice Warrior (SJW). Somehow he believes that if he says stuff over and over and over, folks will either believe him or ignore the reality of Scammy’s history.

Today’s blog is a perfect case in point. The stuff in italics is his stuff.

When you publicly declare a goal in the name of Liberty and in the names of Patriots, you’d better damned well be certain that goal can be attained and that YOU have the balls to see it through, however rough it may get, until you succeed or die – or both.

When you fail because your goal was not attainable, you taint us all.

Do you suppose the Citadel counts in this category? Or the short bus? Or his physical threats to folks? Or the Jedburgers? Or the Society?

If you fail because you are bested by OpFor, that can be forgiven. But when you fail because your goal was not realistic or you personally do not possess the grit and mettle necessary to see it to successful completion, then you paint us all with the same brush of failure.

Sorry, but Scammy’s failures don’t paint me with any brush of failure or success.

If you publicly declare that you and an armed group of fellow Patriots intend to enter and occupy Room X of State Capitol Y and you are met – INSIDE THE BUILDING – by nothing more than 2 old, locked wooden doors and you do not proceed to achieve your stated goal – that is an Epic Failure of grit and mettle. If you publicly declare such things as ‘…not one more inch…’ and you surrender your firearm during a traffic stop and then proceed to pay the State to exercise your God-given 2A Rights – that is an Epic Failure of grit and mettle.

Such failures are either the work of idiots or collaborators. Either way, the prudent Patriot stands clear.

The stated policy on this blog for years: Take no action that does not degrade the will or the ability of your Enemy to wage war.

If you can’t do X, or won’t do X when the time comes, don’t run your mouth about doing X.

How does III Bling degrade the will or ability of our enemies? III playing cards? Vandalism stickers? Caccolube? Garrotes?

A simple trivia question: Are we more free or less free since the introduction of Scammy to the liberty movement? Does that make him a failure? Has Scammy taught one person how to reload a bullet, can a quart of meat or vegetables, sew one stitch in a wound, explain to one person the difference between cover and concealment, explained what dead space is and how to exploit it? And the list goes on. Belt buckle range fighting works when your forces outnumber your enemies and you don’t care if your forces die in the process.

Pretty simple stuff.

Intellectual Honesty is a commodity I have found lacking in the online III world with far too many people. If you claim to be a III Patriot, that means you support individual Liberty and swear to your God to defend that Liberty.  If you claim to be a III Patriot and you claim that taxation is theft – yet your paycheck or medical bills are paid by taxes, you are not being honest – intellectually or otherwise.  If you bed-down with a person who accepts the tax dollars stolen from other Americans, that is not honesty in any form.

With Scammy, I’m not asking for intellectual honesty. Simple honesty would be a good start.

These are not the actions of III Patriots.

These are the actions of hypocrites and liars. Parasites.  Genetic filth.

This is all simple stuff.

The Liberty Movement is, sadly, crowded with the mentally unhinged.

(Souls who may be easily offended should stop reading now.)

When you run your mouth that your stated goal is to run someone out of the III – you’d better be III enough to get the job done – or you are merely a cunt. Take Vienna, or you are a cunt.

My goal was to get everything in the open so people could make a smart decision. Mission accomplished I think.

When you claim someone has behaved immorally or criminally, prove it or you are a cunt.

I guess the Clinton/Obama tactic of deny, deny, deny works for him. Or he hopes so.

When you get punked by a simple court hearing, you are a cunt.

Is he finally admitting something here?

When you cash your State or FedGov paycheck for a job that is not Constitutionally mandated, you are a cunt.

So, everyone in the Army, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, etc., is a “cunt”?

When you promise to build weapons for Patriots and then abandon that promise, you are a cunt.

Is III Arms making guns yet?  Last time I looked they were still announcing that order acceptance would resume soon.  And that was many months ago.

When you let your ‘invalid’ wife take stolen tax dollars from hard-working Americans and take the sow zip-lining, you are a cunt.

What about hiding behind the Akita whisperer in lawsuits or even in owning all his ventures because he can’t own them?

When you try to call out a hit on someone with White Supremacists, get it done or you are a cunt.

Spoken as the guy who moved from Maryland to a city that is 91.4% white with 3 black people, 12 Asians and 15 American Indians.

When you sneak out of a state – you are a cunt.

As opposed to running out of the state to avoid judgments on credit card and other bills? Or not selling the house you never owned?

When you pose with all your Tacti-Cool gear you are a diva – and a cunt.

But blue guns are ok. The guy wouldn’t know the difference between real gear and tacti-cool gear if you held a gun to his head.

If you are Michael Shell and try to hide behind aliases as a sooper-spy, you are a cunt.

But becoming Sam Kerodin after release from the Federal Pen or becoming Courtland Grojean when you wanted to destroy a man’s career is OK?  Or Sam Kerrilion?  How about the 165 blogs/web pages?  Yeah, that’s not a typo.  His words, not mine!

When you break a promise to a Patriot that you do not have to break, you are a cunt.

When you are afraid to walk up to a man and handle your business – you are a cunt.

Scammy, come on down. Whoops he won’t. He’d rather call the law on you with false statements of violence. Or have your wife sue you.

If you are not willing to speak the truth when you know it – you are a cunt.

He’s safe on this one. He doesn’t know the truth if it was staring him in the face.

There are too many cunts masquerading as ‘Patriots’ in America.

It will only take a few serious III Patriots to Take Vienna – to win Rightful Liberty a proper place on our continent. Six men per state in 3-man teams.  I wonder if we really have the numbers…

What is stopping him? Maybe he can’t find four others in Idaho that will go with him.

’nuff said.

Do We Really Believe in America?

Recently a blog entry entitled Tom, Dick and Harry went viral around the III websites. A self entitled “parable” it makes the point that only some of those who proclaim themselves to be patriots really are.  It goes on to describe their example of what being worthy of being called such really means.

I see a lot of that in our movement.

Many believe that being a lover of freedom isn’t enough.

There are some of the more well-known tactical trainers that go so far as to proclaim that without their training, folks just won’t make it. Or that once people get their special training, they’ve got to buy and use the trainers  “special” gear and equipment.

I particularly get amused by the folks who advertise that their stuff is only for the “serious” III%er.

Some in our movement consistently belittle anyone who isn’t a sycophant of theirs. Others call for the “elimination” of anyone who doesn’t believe as they do.

You read daily of folks providing training (for a fee of course) that is the magical, special, must have training that will make you an authentic member of the III% club.

I call BS on all of them.

At a time where our numbers seem to be smaller than ever, we should be accentuating our similarities, not our differences. Many complain that they can’t find a group to join their “tribe”.  Maybe the problem is yours, not the ones that won’t join your tribe.

I spent many years in the Army. I was in units that would be described as the “best of the best” and units that were populated by the category 4 soldiers that the army recruited in the old days.  Every one of these units had the so-called “studs” and the so-called “duds”.  Every one.  Even the best ones have duds and even the worst one have studs.  And yet, clever leaders found a way to motivate and get something out of every one of those who volunteered to serve.

In WWII, England formed a 1.5 million member home guard force, entirely made up of people who were determined to be ineligible for military service (at the height of WWII, it took a lot to be considered ineligible). Old folks, handicapped folks, women, etc.  The Home Guard even had a number of secret roles that included sabotage units who would disable factories and petrol installations following invasion. Members were also recruited into the commando teams of the Auxiliary Units.  Old folks, handicapped folks, women, etc.

Due to logistical issues, they weren’t even all armed!

And we want to proclaim that there is a magical standard that people who believe in freedom must ascribe to?

No one would deny that you need doctors in a hospital.   Yet, even the candy-stripers have a role.  Infections are a huge problem in most modern hospitals.  No one in the medical field belittles the role of the janitors and others who are responsible for sanitation.

We need to stop denigrating and belittling those who come to our cause just because they aren’t exactly like us. Figure out why you claim to be a III%er, lover of freedom, patriot, you name it.  At that point, decide if folks are more like you than dislike you.  Embrace all who are more like you than against you.

Just because someone doesn’t believe exactly what you believe doesn’t make them evil.

We like to say that we make up 3% of our society. I’d suggest that the truly evil in our society are about the same percentage as us.  The rest can all be won over.

Until you demonstrate to me that you are in the evil 3% I see you as a potential ally. Potential allies become real allies based on us, not on them.

I understand that it’s an uphill battle. We have a society where the evil are smarter than we are and consistently demonize us, demonize what we believe in and denigrate all that we hold dear.  However, it’s hard to for people to hate us if they know us.

Americans are seeing this right now. Ignore the characters of Trump and Sanders for a moment and see what they represent.  They represent a citizenry that is finally fed up with the out of control crony government that we’ve grown into.

The time is ripe for us to grow our numbers exponentially.

Now is not the time to come up with purity standards, contrived litmus tests and other efforts to determine who are “serious” patriots.

My Most Serious Post Ever

Well, the blog has been quiet for a while.

No great reasons other than prepping, classes, training and of course the biggest drain, work.

The kids came down on Easter break and we had our first “serious” talk about the upcoming troubles. I say first, but only from the perspective of the daughter and her new husband. Our daughter was brought up the right way and understood all that we talked about. I think the son in law got his eyes opened.

Well there is a pattern of behavior right now on the part of Sammy that has the potential to put us liberty lovers in the cross hairs of “big gov.”

You all know that this blog started back in the days when Sammy was riding high in his scams. He’s no longer riding high since we provided the best solvent to despots – transparency. He’s been a lot quieter now that he’s lost his legions of supporters. Folks who saw the light.

We visit his web page from time to time, mostly for the humor factor. The guy’s antics truly are funny and oh so predictable. Sadly for him, he’s down to the two to three sycophants that haven’t seen the light and actually write comments. We all know that’s never stopped him in the past, and he continues to write his own “anonymous” comments so that he can comment back.

Lately though we’ve seen a change.

A brief history. Sammy started by acting as a sycophant to Mike Vanderboegh over at Sipsey Street Irregulars. Once he figured he had the lingo down, Sammy made a very public break with Mike and went after Mike’s supporters. Sammy realized very quickly that the typical Mike crowd was very quick to call “foul” and ask for real bonafides.

Sammy also realized that there were at lot of folks out there that were itching for a fight. Not looking for local preps and training, but looking to take the fight to some enemy. And Sammy fulfilled their needs with tales of adventure and evilness. Sadly for Sam, that crowd didn’t have a lot of disposable cash!

I think he’s gone over the edge – perhaps on purpose or perhaps he’s losing his mind.

If you went to any of the early Patcons, you saw that he realized that there was a different audience that sucked up to him.  It was the younger folks that just wanted to kill something.  They rallied to him like he was some sort of god.  It was almost embarrassing to watch.  But then he offered something that Mike didn’t.  Mike preached prepare and principles.  Sammy preached kill someone.

Sammy rode that horse hard.  The more hardcore he could create himself to be, the more those folks sucked up.  Sadly for him, that was a crowd that didn’t have a lot of money.  His appeals to wealthier folks were based on his charm and his “shadowy” past.  He convinced folks that he was the gentleman mercenary.

This worked for a while.

And then our efforts showed that the emperor had no clothes.

So now we’re at today.

If his going over the edge is on purpose, then he’s just doubling down to try and get back the crowds that he used to have.

If he’s really lost it, then I think he’s become a danger to himself and others.  He’s always advocated killing folks.

Now he’s manufacturing and selling devices to decapitate folks and offering instruction on how to do it.

His stickers were annoying but pretty much harmless.  Now he’s selling stuff that will destroy motors.

Ok, maybe it’s just more bluster to pump up his ego.

But then he announces a fund raiser to raise $10, 000 to go to the Republican Convention with the missing in action short bus and report to his supporters.

Is this just more bluster to gather money for his lifestyle, or is he inciting something else?

I was always concerned with his antics. But now I am genuinely alarmed. Most of us in the III movement recognize what he is up to and have disassociated ourselves from him.

To those who don’t know about the III movement, he still represents a face of our movement. If his current endeavors lead to either an actual strike or even worse if his comments incite someone to take some sort of action, the lovers of liberty will lose in a big way. The retaliation by “big gov” will be swift and brutal. This is an election year.  Reason will succumb to emotion very quickly.  We will all be painted with the brush of treasonous terrorism.

Sammy needs to be stopped now.

What We Learned At the Debates Part 2

Concentrating on the 2nd Amendment while ignoring the others feeds right into the hands of those that wish to oppress us.  Does anyone think that we are freer today than we were in 1968?

And yet the NRA has taken in untold billions of dollars to “protect” our gun rights, the Republicans have taken in similar amounts and elected “good” folks, the Democrats have taken in just as much and claim to be anti-gun.

Yet, when the Republicans had majorities in both Congress and the Presidency, nothing changed for the better.

When the Democrats had majorities in both Congress and the Presidency, nothing changed that dramatically.

Except for a few things.

Folks that owned stock in gun and ammo companies made lots of money.

Both political parties took in lots of donations for and against the gun cause.

The NRA got rich.

While we were fixated on the 2nd Amendment, the same folks that we elected destroyed most of the rest of the Constitution.

Look at what the National Defense Authorization Act has done. Ostensibly, this is the law that funds the Department of Defense.

Yet it allows for the use of military reservists to be first responders in support of Governors in the event of “terrorist attacks” along with a lot of other reasons. And we all know that we are being painted with the terrorist paint brush regularly.

Section 1021 of the NDAA bill allowed for the “indefinite detention of American citizens without due process at the discretion of the President”. Although some in Congress have attempted to remove this provision, it still exists.

The 2014 NDAA also includes a new provision that appears to bolster the national security surveillance state. Section 1071(a) authorizes the Defense Department to “establish a center to be known as the ‘Conflict Records Research Center’.”

Using the dangerously broad terms now typical of national security policy parlance, the Conflict Records Research Center enables the DoD to compile a “digital research database including translations and to facilitate research and analysis of records captured from countries, organizations, and individuals, now or once hostile to the United States.” Who gets to be a surveillance target — the specific remit of “now or once hostile” — is troublingly ill-defined and unrestricted.

Run down the list of violations of the constitution on this one. The so-called Patriot Act is full of examples of constitutional abuse.

It’s reasonable to have different opinions on the actions of Edward Snowden. Some hail him as a hero, others as a traitor.

What we can’t disagree on is the troublesome actions that he revealed.

NSA sweeping up American’s phone records.

The British spy agency, the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), taps fiber optic cables all over the world to intercept data flowing through the global Internet, we learned. The GCHQ works closely with the NSA, sharing data and intelligence in a program that’s codenamed Tempora.

XKeyscore is a tool the NSA uses to search “nearly everything a user does on the Internet” through data it intercepts across the world. In leaked documents, the NSA describes it as the “widest-reaching” system to search through Internet data.

The NSA has at its disposal an elite hacker team codenamed “Tailored Access Operations” (TAO) that hacks into computers worldwide, infects them with malware and does the dirty job when other surveillance tactics fail.

It’s not just about Internet data though. The NSA, following its unofficial motto of “collecting it all,” intercepts 200 million text messages every day worldwide through a program called Dishfire.

The power to take property without due process continues to be abused by local, state and federal law enforcement officials. Asset forfeiture is a horror that is repeated daily across the US.

In America today, you do not have the right to say whatever you want. If you say the wrong thing on a blog or a website it can have dramatic consequences.

In America today, you do not have the right to do raise your own children as you see fit.

In America today, you do not have the right to grow whatever food you want and you do not have the right to eat whatever food you do grow.

In America today, you do not have the right to be free from unreasonable search and seizure.

In America today, you do not have a right to privacy. In fact, you should expect that everything that you do is watched, tracked, monitored and recorded.

If you doubt any of the statements above, just check out the examples posted below.

The following are 11 signs that Americans who love liberty and freedom should watch their backs….

#1 A 55-year-old man in Arizona was recently ordered to turn in all his guns because of things that he wrote on his blog. Fortunately, after WorldNetDaily covered the story there was an outpouring of outrage and the order was overturned, but what would have happened if WorldNetDaily had not covered the story?

#2 According to Mike Adams of Natural News, the CDC is starting to call parents all over the nation to question them about the vaccination status of their children.  The U.S. Centers for Disease Control, which has been comprehensively exposed as a vaccine propaganda organization promoting the interests of drug companies, is now engaged in a household surveillance program that involves calling U.S. households and intimidating parents into producing child immunization records. As part of what it deems a National Immunization Survey(NIS), the CDC is sending letters to U.S. households, alerting them that they will be called by “NORC at the University of Chicago” and that households should “have your child’s immunization records handy when answering our questions.”

#3 According to blogger Alexander Higgins, students in kindergarten and the 1st grade in the state of New Jersey are now required by law to participate “in monthly anti-terrorism drills”. The following is an excerpt from a letter that he recently received from the school where his child attends….“Each month a school must conduct one fire drill and one security drill which may be a lockdown, bomb threat, evacuation, active shooter, or shelter-in place drill. All schools are now required by law to implement this procedure.”

#4 According to licensed private investigator Angela V. Woodhull, hospitals are increasingly using “guardianship” to strip elderly Americans of their liberty and to rapidly drain their bank accounts. The following is one story that Woodhull included in a recent article….Ginger Franklin, Hendersonville, Tennessee, fell down the stairs in her condo and suffered a bump on her head.  She was declared “temporarily mentally incapacitated” and a guardian was appointed through the courts.  Within six weeks, the guardian had sold Franklin’s home, car, furniture, and drained her bank account.  Today, Franklin has her freedom back, but she is having to start all over.

#5 In a sign of just how far individual liberty in the United States has declined, a judge in Wisconsin has actually ruled that citizens do not have a right to grow and eat whatever foods they want to. The following is a short excerpt from his recent decision….

1) no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to own and use a dairy cow or a dairy herd;

2) no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to consume the milk from their own cow;

3) no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to board their cow at the farm of a farmer;

4) no, the Zinniker Plaintiffs’ private contract does not fall outside the scope of the State’s police power;

5) no, Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to produce and consume foods of their choice;

#6 The freedom to raise our pets as we want to is also being greatly curtailed in many areas of the country. For example, a new law in St. Louis would require nearly all dogs and cats to be sterilized and microchipped….Board Bill 107 would require all pet owners to spay or neuter their dogs and cats and microchip them for identification. Those who don’t want to sterilize their pets would be assessed a fee of $200 per year.

#7 Whenever any politician suggests that we should “suspend elections”, that should be a major red flag. Former North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue made national headlines when she made the following statement….“I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover“

#8 Many Americans have complained about the horrible treatment that they are receiving at U.S. airports, but now the TSA is bringing their brand of “security” to many other locations throughout America as well.  TSA “VIPR teams” now conduct approximately 8,000 “unannounced security screenings” a year at subway stations, bus terminals, ports and highway rest stops.

#9 Many of our public schools are now being run like prisons. In fact, in many areas of the country, little kids are being publicly arrested by police in their own classrooms and are being marched out of their schools in handcuffs.

#10 If you think that anything that you do on the Internet is private, you should guess again. It has recently come out that Facebook continues to track most of the websites that you visit even after you have logged out of Facebook.

In addition, law enforcement agencies all over the globe are increasingly viewing social media as a law enforcement tool. For example, the NYPD recently created a special “social media” unit dedicated to looking for criminals on Facebook and Twitter.

Also, many large organizations are now setting us very sophisticated systems that keep track of what is being said about them online and who is saying it. For example, the new “Social Media Monitoring Solution” being developed by the Federal Reserve will identify “key bloggers” and monitor “billions of conversations” about the Fed on Facebook, Twitter, forums and blogs.

#11 The U.S. government is ramping up efforts to have all of us watch one another and to report any sign of “suspicious activity” to them immediately. But exactly what does “suspicious activity” entail?  According to a shocking document obtained by Oath Keepers, the FBI has really broadened their definition of “suspicious activity”.  According to the document, “suspicious activity” now includes….

-paying with cash

-missing a hand or fingers

-“strange odors”

-making “extreme religious statements”

-“radical theology”

-purchasing weatherproofed ammunition or match containers

-purchasing meals ready to eat

-purchasing night vision devices, night flashlights or gas masks

According to WorldNetDaily, this document is part of a “series of brochures” that will be distributed “to farm supply stores, gun shops, military surplus stores and even hotels and motels.”

Who knew that the in 1997, the US has implemented an International Building Code in every city, county and state in the United States?

These are just a few examples.

The point isn’t the examples. The point is that there is a plethora of government intrusion into lots of people’s lives.  Folks that could be our allies in the fight for liberty.

We must transition our 2nd amendment passion to a support for all liberty.

Freedom and Liberty need to be our rallying cry. Those who wish to control our lives work hard to keep every oppressed group separate.  If we were to embrace some or all of the other oppressed folks, our numbers would grow.

Take a look at the oppression of liberty, particularly on things that you don’t like. Liberty means genuine tolerance, even for things that you don’t like.  Many folks for example don’t like cigarettes, but the government oppression of smokers is huge.

Freedom is freedom, no matter what sub part of it we wish to fight for.
